Getting ready for labor and delivery

Presented by our anesthesiologists and maternity nurses, the childbirth classes are designed to help expectant parents for labor and childbirth.

Class outline:

1. Welcoming and presentation of attendees
2. Learning about labor, delivery and post-partum care
   • Signs of labor
   • Normal progress of labor and childbirth
   • Options for handling pain: breathing techniques for coping with contractions and pros and cons of common medication such as Epidural
   • Most common childbirth complications and how they are handled
3. Covering the basics of newborn care
4. Visiting the maternity department where you will give birth

Classes are held in Nini Hospital conference room on the second Tuesday of each month.
